This chart converts any grade to GPA on the standard US 4.0 scale. Each row pairs a letter grade with its percentage range, its GPA point value, and a plain-language classification, from A+ at the top to F at the bottom. It is the same mapping used by most American high schools and colleges, and by our grade and GPA calculators.
Reading it takes two steps. First, find your grade in whichever form you have it: a letter on a transcript, or a percentage from a class average. Then read across. A 91 percent, for example, sits in the 90 to 92 band, which is an A- worth 3.7 GPA points. Going the other way works too: a professor announcing that a 3.3 is a B+ is quoting exactly this table.
Two caveats are worth knowing before you convert a whole transcript. The A+ row is capped at 4.0 here, which is the most common convention; some universities award 4.33 for an A+, and a few grant nothing above 4.0 at all. And percentage cutoffs shift slightly between schools: one syllabus draws the A line at 93, another at 94. When your score lands within a point of a boundary, the official answer is always your school's own scale, not a generic chart.
